Summerisms

Oh summer. Wonderful summer. Oh how cold you have been. I've been wearing jeans this whole time and have only said 'I'm hot' once or twice. Amazing. What kind of summer is that?

I have about a month before I go back to school. But I'm kind of starting to miss school. Except...Eek. Seniorism. Oldism. Blah. I'm no where near ready to be on my last year of high school.

Speaking of high school...has anyone seen the new Harry Potter movie? Yes? No? I have a slight urge to go see it. I'd like to know though...was/is it good?

What next...I guess not much else to say. I need to read more.
Hmm.

Un-UnHappy Holidays

It's break. Wonderful break.
I feel like I already had a break and school just got back to normal.
It's nice though if your birthday is on the Friday you get off.
No homework. No worries. Very relaxing.

What's scary though, is that I think two weeks is such a short amount of time now. When I was in elementary school, by the time break was over, I had been bored a week and wanted to go back to school.
Crazy times.

Magic!!

Yeah…I’m back. Yay. I know you missed me and were wondering what the heck happened to me. One word: School.

A few days ago, I went to the library with my class. I was appalled at the way the books were being introduced. The first comment, by the librarians, about the books were something along the lines of:

“This book is nice and short…”
“This book is not as long as it looks…”
“This book is a quick read because of the way it’s written…”

After listening, I was highly annoyed and saddened. I don’t understand why people wouldn’t want to read. There are so many great books out there. How could people not appreciate books and being sucked into a different world? How is that not exciting?

Book = Happiness+Love

Change of Plans...

I’ve been attempting to do a review of Twilight by Stephenie Meyer for about a week now. Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure what to write. I've decided to read the rest of the books, and review Breaking Dawn when it comes out.

I did enjoy reading Twilight though. I giggled like a love-struck school-girl through the first half of the book over Edward. (Me? Giggle? *gasp* Yes, it even surprised me too.) I finished Twilight in one day. Pretty soon, I'll have my official thoughts about Edward Cullen vs. Jacob Black.

Reviewingly yours,

My Wonderful Mother

If you haven't already guessed, this post is for my dearest mother. The 22 of July is her birthday. Happy birthday my lovely mother! I was surprised about what happened for her this year's birthday because I learned something.

I've always thought I wasn't much of a cook. I've claimed to not be able to or enjoy cooking at all. I recently found that's not true. I was baking my fabulous mother a cake and voila! I found it very fun. The only part I had trouble with was putting the icing on. I put waay too much in the middle so I had barely enough to cover the sides and top of my "masterpiece." It all goes in the same place though and at least I baked the actual cake right.

So, happy birthday mother and thank you for finally helping/allowing me discover my long-denied love. I know I never would have trusted myself to bake a cake.

Your talented daughter,

Are you a Math lover?

I haven't posted on here for a while. For all of you who have given up hope, I'm sorry. All I can say is: Books. I had many to read. I still do, but I'm letting myself relax a little. It was really hard to read five books at once.

As people might know from one of my previous posts, I love Math. I like finding patterns in a seemingly random set of numbers. I also enjoy being my mom's phone book. There has been one problem in particular that I remember solving:

"Using six fours, can you make a problem where the end result will equal ten?"

I'm curious, am I the only one that over complicated this problem?

Math loving and yours,

Wonderful Randomness^6 Part 2

6 more random facts are:

1.) When I know I'm being timed, my brain melts.
2.) I just put a whole bunch of classical music on my ipod. (I don't know any composers or song names yet.)
3.) My favourite school subject is Mathematics. I particularly love Algebra.
4.) I just found out, in my 17th year of living, how to correctly pronounce Appalachian and naive. Yes. It's true.
5.) I am in love with a Christian Rock band. (No, I am not Christian.)
6.) My brain thinks randomly 99.9% of the time, so these memes were fun. I still have a general dislike of chain mail and forwards though.

Before I curl up and read,
